What we Believe

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the true inerrant, inspired, infallible word of God. The Bible teaches us God's Law and Gospel. The Bible testifies who Jesus is and the heavenly Father's gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. It is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.

2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21; John 5:39; Isaiah 55:11; Psalm 119:60; John 17:17; Titus 1:2

God

We believe in one eternal God who reveals Himself in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19-20; John 1:1-2, 14; John 10:30, 14:15-17; 1 Corinthians 8:6

The Father

We believe God the Father lovingly created us and all things. God created us to be in relationship with him.

Genesis 1:1, 26; Jeremiah 31:3; John 3:16-17

Jesus

We believe Jesus in full humanity and full divinity came into our broken sinful world. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross, and rose again three days later. He ascended into heaven. His death and resurrection brings forgiveness, a restored relationship with our holy God, and eternal life to those who believe. One day Jesus will come again to judge the living and the dead. Philippians 2:5-11; Colossians 1:15-20; Isaiah 7:14; Isaiah 9:6; Isaiah 53; John 1:1-5, 10-14; John 14:6; Acts 2:22-24

Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit dwells in every believer. The Holy Spirit is our counselor, convicts us of sin, helps us understand the word of God, and leads us to live a sanctified life.

John 3:5, 14:15-17; 16:7-13; Acts 5:3-4; Ephesians 1:13-14; Titus 3:5-7; 1 Corinthians 6:19

Man

We believe all people have sinned in thought, word, and deed. We all have fallen short of God's desires. This sin separates us from our holy, sinless God and we, therefore, are in need of a Savior (Jesus). Romans 3:10-12, 3:23, 6:23; 1 John 1:8-10

Salvation

We believe salvation is a gift of God. We are saved by grace through faith alone. We are not saved by works we do, but by the saving work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 John 5:11-12; Romans 5:8-9; John 3:16; Romans 10:9-10

Baptism

We believe baptism is a means of grace. Baptism is one way we can receive the Holy Spirit, forgiveness of sins, and become a child of God. Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:16; Titus 3:5-8; Romans 6:4; John 1:29-34; Acts 2:38; Acts 16:33

The Church

We believe in one Christian church. The church consists of all believers saved by faith in Jesus Christ. We gather as a body regularly to worship God, to gladly hear and learn from God's word, to receive the sacrament of the Lord's Supper, to pray for and encourage one another. Christ is the head of the church.

Acts 2:42; Romans 12:5; 1 Corinthians 10:17; Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14, 25-26; Ephesians 3:10; Ephesians 5:23

The Christian Life

We believe every believer is a disciple. As a disciple we are to continually grow in our faith. We are also called to go and make disciples. We are called to declare the good news of Jesus to our families, neighbors, and the world.

Matthew 28:19-20; John 8:31; John 13:34-35

We believe in Christ alone, faith alone, scripture alone, and grace alone.

To God be all glory!
